Preamble
In keeping with the vision of the International Year of Crystallography (IYCr2014), IUCr and UNESCO, the co-organizers of the Year are committed to facilitate the participation by scientists and students from the African continent in the 24th IUCr Congress in Hyderabad. Accordingly, the local organizing committee (LOC) of the 24th Congress will make serious efforts to ensure the participation of a reasonable number of participants from Africa.
Support from UNESCO and ICSU-Regional Office for Africa
The LOC is pleased to record that UNESCO will support the participation of around 10-20 scientists and students from Africa (excluding South Africa) with partial financial assistance. Such assistance may cover partial or full registration and accommodation but amounts for part travel may not be provided to all applicants. All those desirous of availing such bursaries will need to apply to the LOC through the Congress web site. Applicants from Africa should make all efforts to secureat least a part of the required funding from other sources.
